I'm BAAAccckkk!!!

I'm in the last home stretch of spring quarter before summer!! And this amazing day with it being almost 90 degrees outside today, is a real tease!! I have one lesson plan project to finish, 2 reflection papers to finish writing and i JUST finished my psychology research paper! YAY!

Also, I wanted to say Happy Veterans Day to my Grandpa Dick and all the other men and women who have served, or are currently serving our country. I can never do what you guys do and for that I applaud  each and every one of you guys! I know I've said this before on here, but my Grandpa was a survivor of the Bataan Death March and POW. He turns 94 next month! I have the strongest, greatest Grandpa ever!
Me, Grandpa, My sister and Dad

I also just wrote my last rent check to my land lord for this apartment and let me tell you....I am WAY too excited to move back home! Who woulda thought, right??? I'm about up to here (my hands over my head) with my one roommate! Don't even get me started, but I think I'm the only college student who is actually excited to move back in with my parents! I will be a new and improved daughter. I actually COOK dinner now, clean the dishes, do the laundry and NOT complain about any of it, because it would never be as bad as it is in my apartment right now with my roommate! UGH! (Take my word for it Mom!)

Enough about that. This weekend was wonderful!! I cleaned out my closet and my sister and I donated like 8 bags full of clothes, shoes, toys, books! It felt good. I also realized I have a problem. I found all my bathing suits and tried them all on...for 1, because I wanted to make sure they still fit and 2, make sure I still like them. I have TEN bathing suits with one on the way. Yes, I'll admit it, I have a bathing suit problem.

We also had our first bbq of the season and I love bbq season. It was so fun seeing family and friends to start the summer off...kinda. My sister is living up at school for the summer, so I'll be lonely in our household again :(

Anyways, there are a lot of things I realized I want to start doing this summer or at least try. So I won't forget, I'll have them here.

Summer goals/bucket list:
Read the new Chelsea Handler Book
Workout everyday---whether it's going to the gym, or bike riding
Blog more- I swear my life is not that interesting, but I'll try to make it better. lol
Cook more and find more good recipes
Start my classroom library---do any teachers have good places where I can find lots of books for cheap or lots of deals?
Foster an older dog from the shelter I fostered at last year.
Go to Vegas or a long weekend with the Boy somewhere--any ideas for cheap getaways?
Camping might be the next alternative-lol
Run a marathon
Get rid of more junk in my room
Rearrange my room and get all matching sheets. :)

I think that's it for now!
Alrighty, back to school work I go! I hope it's as nice where you guys are, as it is here in Chicago!

HELP!!

First off, I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, the best Mom there is! And all the other Mom's out there!
My Mom and Sister

Now, onto my issue of this week...

None of the blogs I'm following are showing up on my blogger dashboard!! When I view "my profile", they're all there, but not showing the recently written posts. Does anyone know how to fix this??

I haven't read my weekly favorite blogs because I don't know if they've been updated!

Any ideas on what I can do to make them show up?!

Thanks!!

Rantings and Lovings

If you are not interested in my complaining then read on to things I'm loving instead.

THINGS THAT ARE FRUSTRATING ME:

I am so frustrated lately and honestly cannot wait to move out of my apartment and back home. I never thought I would say that. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE living by myself in the city on my own, but when you have 2 other roommates that are either; a. never here or b. more sloppy than my dog, then I have a problem!

About 2 months ago, I bought a 26 roll pack of toilet paper, a 12 roll of paper towels and 2 tubes of clorox wipes. We still have the toilet paper I bought, but no one has bought another pack of paper towels or clorox wipes. So, when they spill, guess what they use? THE DISH TOWELS! and you'll never guess who uses their OWN 4 quarters to wash those dish towels when they get all gross and dirty? Yep, you are good....it's ME!

Secondly, my roommate, Ms. "I'm-too-good-for everyone" does not do CRAP around here. Never has and probably never will. She will leave dishes on one side of the sink for (NOT KIDDING) 3 weeks. Today, I walked in our apartment, from a much needed manicure and it reeked! It smelled so bad. So, of course, I took the garbage out and the dishes were still on the side of the sink. The same dishes that were there 3 weeks ago. I was so sick of it, I put the dirty dishes in the dish washer AND they weren't even mine!!!

During all of this, I texted both of my roommates and asked either of them if they could stop by SOMETIME today and get some rolls of toilet paper and clorox wipes. Of course, neither of them said they had time today. Except the "cool" roommate did bring some back from the cafe she was at. Which only lasted me the counters and the stove top.

I also have 5 weeks of school left! That's so long. I still have 10 hours of observations to do, which I don't know when I'll be able to do it. I still got work Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.

THINGS I'M LOVING:
Me, My Sister and her roommate on her bday
My sister is coming home in a couple weeks from Spain! I know she is probably not excited but I am. Now, when I have no one to hang out with in the city, she can come visit me!
Us on Easter at his Grandma's

The Boy makes me happy! I see him probably every other weekend and sometimes two weeks in a row. He really is the best.
Me, B, and C (my roommate when I was at Western)
Things have changed over the past couple of years. With my changing colleges and whatnot, friends sometimes are with you or without you. I use to be able to say that one of my close girlfriends was my absolute best friend in the whole world. And while, I still consider 1 or 2 of them to be, The Boy, right now, hands down my best friend. It's nice to know that he enjoys seeing me and hanging out with me as much as I do. He's friends are amazing as well. I do wish some of my friends and I were still as close as we were in High School, but I'm hoping once we've all graduated and back in our home town, I think we will. YAY!

93 DAYS until Punta Cana! I seriously cannot wait! This is all I'm thinking about. The Boy told me I should workout with him everyday over the summer. Let me give you a little inside scoop....he is a buff guy, watches what he eats, works out everyday and works as an exercise therapist at a physical therapy office. So, needless to say, I'm hesitant about his offer. I already have a guy, so why should I feel the need to look good. I do, however, feel much better and healthier when I workout. So, I might take him up on that offer. Then, in 93 days, I can look good for all the 1,000,001 pictures I will be taking while in Punta Cana.
My sister, J and I
J is the friend that I'm going to Punta Cana with. She lives next door. I'm so excited to be going with her and her family. But, can't you tell that she's in amazing shape. She's a D2 pole vaulter. So, I gotta not look like a lump next to her. lol

Anyways, I cannot say enough GOOD things about the lady I nanny for. She is just awesome! She's like one of my new good friends. I work for her Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday's. She even asked me if I wanted to continue nannying over the summer! So, I don't need to look for a summer job, which is amazing!!

I also LOVE that I am (hopefully) fostering again this summer! I absolutely loved it last summer. We got a new fence so there is NO way they can escape now and I love it!!

These were the puggles I fell in love with. I'm still convinced they were not puggles, but we can pretend they were.
I'll leave you with this adorable picture! That is all my ramblings for a Saturday. Back to cleaning, homework and making dinner!

Wedding Time....

....NOT mine, but of course the Royal Wedding. Now to be honest, when I heard they got engaged I could care less. But, as the weeks went on and that is the ONLY thing on TV these days, I couldn't help but be a little intrigued. I think Kate Middelton is absolutely gorgeous, now William on the other hand....ehhh, no comment, but they do look cute together, I'll say that.

It's 10:27 pm my time right now, meaning it's 2:30 am in London. Am I going to wake up my time @ 4 am and watch it? Prolly not, but I will DVR it and maybe, even possibly leave it on all night while I'm sleeping and just turn the volume down to level 1 or 2.

5 more weeks of classes. I can do this! UGH! I've been so busy, the only time I can read blogs (and I'm so glad that I can) is in class or at work.

I'm telling you, these teacher blogs that I keep finding are amazing. I seriously cannot wait to student teach!

Bedtime. To wake up in 5 hours or sleep in?! Hmmm....

ADELE is my new favorite artist! She is amazing!

ATTN: ALL Teachers

For my assessment class, one of my HUGE projects is doing a 10-day unit plan. With that, we have to make 10 assessments; formative and summative! We can choose the grade AND unit theme. It's so broad, that I am having a difficult time narrowing down ideas. I like the upper grades like 3rd and above. I'll take ANY suggestions.

We can also make our own rubrics, so I'm using Rubistar. Great website, by the way.

Can anyone help me narrow some ideas down?

A day in the life

I'm sorry I haven't been up-to-date with blogging lately. I read everyone else's blogs DAILY, yes daily. I read them during class, on the way to class and in bed, when I should be sleeping. I have an app on my iPhone that allows me to read all the blogs I follow. I have to thanks my Mom for showing me that app. It saves me from some pretty boring lectures.

Anywhooo....I'm in my 3rd week of classes, with 7 more to go...in school days, that's like 5 years!! I'm still stressed, but I'm just taking it day-by-day.

This past weekend I went home to take an ALL day CPR/AED/first aide class. It started at 8:30 am and ended at 5:45 pm! I did pass the class, so I am now certified for 2 years. So, if anyone chokes or has a heart attack, I am a "trained responder", (as our instructor liked to call us) and I know what to do. Which, to be honest, is kinda scary.

Friday night I went on an actually dinner DATE with the Boy. Now, this was big for us. Usually, a typical dinner out is going to a pub/bar and eating wings or a burger with beer and watching either the Bulls, the Hawks, Sox/Cubs or Kansas basketball (thankfully, KU's season is over). So, when we were seated all the way in the corner where there was no TV for the Boy to keep tabs on the Hawks game, it was a relief. The Boy of course goes, "Ugh, now I actually have to talk to you", jokingly of course!

Tomorrow morning I start my nannying on a weekly basis. I'm hoping I'm not going to be on stress overload. But, Tuesday's and Thursday's I only have one class, so it shouldn't be TOO bad. When I am stressed, I found my new love for Adele. She's amazing!!

Anyways, what has everyone else been up too?

112 days til PUNTA CANA!
267 days until I start student teaching....yikkeess!!!
