My birthday, midterms and a snow storm....OH MY!!

Sorry I've been MIA lately. A lot has been going on. 


Friday night I went out to a delicious birthday dinner with my family. The next morning we kicked her off shipped my sister off to Spain. She's there safe and sound. She's lucky because Chicago is suppose to get a record breaking snow storm tomorrow and Wednesday. Why can't I be in Spain? So Friday night I stayed in with my roommie. We ate ice cream and watched House Hunters International! OUR FAV!!

Saturday I slept in. Which was a birthday present in itself! Then The Boy came. We went out to dinner for my birthday and we came home around 7 only for me to be completely shocked that my 3 friends were there to surprise me for my birthday!! I was so happy because I thought I'd just be celebrating with The Boy and my roommie (which still would have been a blast in a glass-haha), so needless to say I had a great night of celebrating the big 22! The Boy got MAJOR points for putting together a surprise party just for me and making me a scrapbook of pictures of us! He's the best! 


So Sunday was definitely a lazy day. The Boy, roommate and I went out to brunch. He left and I tried to studied for my midterms this week. Monday's and Wednesday's are my long days on campus so I packed a handy dandy lunch and headed to class at 7:30 this morning! (I love my lunch sack I got for Christmas!) 

Today, in one of my midterms that fire alarm went off in the whole building so we had to stop and hand in the exam. We found out that there was either a toilet that was overflowing and couldn't stop OR that there really was a small fire on the 5th floor...either way I was excited because after we were allowed back in the building, my Professor decided just to give us back the exam so we could take it home to complete! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Chicago is also suppose to get a record breaking snow storm. My school has been issuing warnings like crazy. And since it's midterm week, I'll be happy to have classes cancelled, so I can study for one more week! :)

"The Beach"....take me there now!

So I recently read a post by Shell at Things I Can't Say, that made me realize how much I miss my all time favorite vacation spot, Ocean Isle Beach, NC. My family has been going there since I was born. My mom was pregnant with my sister when I first went. We go every year. We would go with a bunch of people and we all lived in the same house and split the cost. I LOVED living/eating/playing with 9 other people all the time. My aunt, uncle, my cousin Rick, my dad's best friend from college and his wife, my best friend S and her family of 4, were what we came to call 'the usuals' that would end up going every year. The first year we went as 'the usuals' was probably 1997(estimated guess)? We rent a house for a week with about 6 bedrooms(even 1 room exclusively named "the kids" room, just for all the kids to sleep in) and just relax, play in the ocean, go fishing, jet skiing and just play games and enjoy the company of loved one.

the kids on the way to dinner. Every year, as we all got older, the adults decided to dedicate one night of dinner to the kids. This meant that one night the kids had to make dinner for all the adults. This was a lot of fun. We usually made tacos; it was easy and everyone loves tacos!

hahaha. My sister just hanging out by the pool. This is my 'little' sister way back when she was 'little'. She's now 20 years old and can kick my butt (but I won't admit that to her) lol.

I recommend this place to anyone who just wants to relax and have fun. My family usually went at the end of July beginning of August, and we always have beautiful whether! But anytime of year is also great! And if you don't want to rent a house, there are tons of condos, apartments and hotels for you to rent out for however long you want need a vacation! I cannot wait to go back. Some of my favorite memories are from "The Beach".

Someone take me there NOW.....pleaseee... :)

Mono...WHAT???

I've been pretty shitty the past couple of days. Thursday morning I woke up with my tonsils the size of golf balls. They hurt so bad, I could barely swallow without cringing.

So I finally went to the doctor this morning and she did a strept test....and it came back negative. I was hoping it was positive so I can just take the medicine and feel better. But nooooo, of course it wasn't. So she goes, "well maybe you have mono," Greatttt...just what I need in the middle of my quarter when I have 2 papers due every week and midterms coming up.....greattt!!! So I have to go confirm next week with a blood test. Which sucks. Since there is no cute for mono, I just have to wait it out and just drink lots of liquids and cough drops. I also can only eat soft food, which i love soup and ice cream but I'm a girl with a hardy appetite...i LOVE to eat so this sucks.

Any suggestions for a sore throat and throbbing headaches???

346 days left til I student teach in an actually REAL classroom. ugh so far away still.

I Need BLOG Help Please...

Ok, so as you can see I'm trying to get a new look to 'Everything Me' and since I'm new to blogging, I don't really know what I'm doing.
 I got this new design from LeeLou Blogs and I love it. I just want it to continue throughout my header and right now it does not. :(
Can anyone help me with fixing this? I've tried other designs, just incase it was the design and they all do it. So I'm getting really frustrated trying to figure this out.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

random blog day

i turn 22 in 13 days!! That's insane. I'm in my 3rd week of classes already and I'm doing good.
This past weekend I celebrated my birthday with my family. It was fun to see everyone. I got a new phone and so far i love it. other than the battery power isn't so good.

I also dyed my hair on Saturday!! This is huge for me. I have been blonde my whole life and now I'm a brunette! What do you think?

I needed a change. With my old blonde washed out hair, I faded out my skin and just made me look 'blah' i thought. Since I cant go tanning anymore, I wanted to embrace my pale-ness instead of try to hid it. So we'll see how long this last. I'm also going to cut my hair short when I start student teaching and maybe i'll go back to blonde then.

Well I gotta finish watching Teen Mom 2. I'm a reality TV junky, so don't make fun of me. Also, my sister is leaving for Spain in a couple weeks and I wish I was going. umph. Let's still hope I can still go over spring break. I got 8 more weeks. Not like i'm counting down or anything....

I'm still an Aquarius at heart

So, supposedly the horoscope signs all changed yesterday. They say astrologists have known this for over 2000 years, so I'm confused as to why it just came out yesterday. Well here it is. INTRODUCING the new sign; 'Ophiuchus'. So, if your birthday falls between November 30th - December 17th, you are now a Ophiuchus. This is where you should go if your interested to see what your 'new' characteristics are.

Now, I'm upset. My birthday does not fall between those days, but it still messes up my sign. Everything about me says Aquarius!!! So, naturally you would understand my disappointment when I read yesterday I am now a Capricorn. UGH! I guess I'll have to get use to it. But I just wanted to say thanks to whoever decided to come forward with this new 'sign' just yesterday, when for 22 years I thought I was an aquarius. 


I decided...I'm still an Aquarius at heart! :)
